No shootings reported in Kazakhstan’s Almaty

There is no shooting reported in Kazakhstan’s Almaty city for more than a day, TASS reports on Jan. 11.

“The situation in the city is being stabilized,” the message said. “There are also many people and cars on the streets. Most of the stores have reopened. Nevertheless, the police cars are patrolling the streets”.

Armed militants attacked Almaty from three directions, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said, Trend reports via Kazinform.

Tokayev made the statement speaking at an extraordinary session of the Collective Security Council of CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization).

84th meeting of Kazakh-Uzbek Demarcation Commission took place in Almaty

The 84th meeting of the government delegations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s Demarcation Commission took place on June 7-11, 2021, in the city of Almaty, stated on the website of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Kazinform reports.

The sides continued the preparation of draft outcome documents on state border demarcation and discussed the draft agreement between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the demarcation of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border.

The next meeting is set to take place in Uzbekistan.

“Saryarka” main pipeline put into operation in Kazakhstan

Construction of Kazakhstan’s “Saryarka” main pipeline is completed and the pipeline was put into operation, “Trend.az” reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy.

According to the ministry, the pipeline was put into operation of Dec. 27, 2019.

The pipeline, which starts in country’s Kyzylorda region, will supply gas to country’s capital, as well as central and northern regions.

Kazakhstan discusses the development strategy of country’s Almaty city

A new project of ‘Development strategy of Almaty city for 2050’ was submitted for public discussion in Kazakhstan, “Trend” news agency reports, with reference to the press office of city’s akimat (administrative center).
The project has been submitted by Head of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
The development strategy for 2050 includes seven strategic priorities:
- City without outskirts
- ‘Smart’ city
- City of equal opportunities
- Safe city
- ‘Green’ city
- Global business center
- Cultural creative city
