Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan plan to revive the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan stated that Astana and Baku are considering the possibility of launching oil transportation through the „Baku-Supsa“ pipeline. They noted that the parties are currently discussing this issue.

Kazakh Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliev said that Kadakhstan and Azerbaijan are planning to launch oil transportation via the „Baku-Supsa“ pipeline. The route to the Georgian port of Supsa has a capacity of 5 million tons per year.

Bp resumes oil transportation through Baku-Supsa pipeline – regional president

bp has resumed oil transportation through the Baku-Supsa pipeline, said Gary Jones, bp Regional President to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye during a briefing dedicated to bp's plans for the future, Trend reports.

According to him, two tankers with oil have already been delivered to the Georgian Supsa port.

"Depending on weather conditions, oil via Baku-Supsa will be transported to world markets," he added.

Axpo sells its 5% stake in TAP to Fluxys and Enagás

Axpo has agreed the sale of its 5% stake in the Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) to TAP shareholders Fluxys and Enagás S.A, it was announced today, Trend reports via the company.

Under the sale and purchase agreement, Belgium’s Fluxys will acquire 1% and Spain’s Enagás 4% of Axpo’s 5% equity stake. Both companies will thus reach 20% ownership of TAP, which includes UK shareholder bp (20%), Azerbaijan’s SOCAR (20%), and Italy’s Snam (20%).

BTC celebrates 500 million tonnes of oil export

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline, operated by bp, has achieved a significant milestone by carrying 500 million tonnes of oil in total from the Sangachal terminal near Baku across Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to Ceyhan, reports “bp”.

The milestone was achieved on 12 December when the 500 millionth tonne of Caspian crude flowed through the pipeline, was loaded on the 4922nd tanker named Nordorse, which was a joint SOCAR lifting, and departed for Trieste (Italy).
