Bulgartransgaz took actions for the realization of the Vertical Gas Corridor
The first public procurement, which is planned to be carried-out has three lots - site "Looping from Kulata to Kresna", site "Gas transmission pipeline from Piperevo to Pernik" and site "Looping from Rupcha to Vetrino". The estimated value of the public procurement is in the amount of BGN 586,669,410.00 (five hundred eighty-six million six hundred sixty-nine thousand four hundred and ten) without VAT.
Pursuant to a decision of the National Assembly of March 14, 2024, promulgated on March 19, 2024, on a proposal by the executive director of Bulgartransgaz EAD Vladimir Malinov the Management Board and the Supervisory Board of the company took the decision for carrying-out a public procurement in relation to the initiative of the gas transmission operators of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Moldova for the Vertical Corridor.
Starting the public procurement in compliance with the applicable Bulgarian and European legislation is in connection with the implementation of the projects for increasing the natural gas transmission capacity in the direction from Greece to Bulgaria at the Kulata/Sidirokastro interconnection point and in the direction from Bulgaria to Romania at the Negru Voda/Kardam interconnection point.
The expansion of the gas transmission infrastructure of “Bulgartransgaz” EAD will allow achieving the goals of the Vertical Corridor for diversification and improving the security of supplies by transmitting additional natural gas quantities from South to North.
The first public procurement, which is planned to be carried-out in accordance with the Public Procurement Act (PPA), is for “Spatial planning, investment design, delivery of the necessary materials and equipment, construction and commissioning of new sites for the expansion of the gas transmission infrastructure of Bulgartransgaz" EAD aiming to increase the capacities at the Kulata/Sidirokastro and Negru Voda/Kardam interconnection points”.
It has three lots - site "Looping from Kulata to Kresna", site "Gas transmission pipeline from Piperevo to Pernik" and site "Looping from Rupcha to Vetrino". The estimated value of the public procurement is in the amount of BGN 586,669,410.00 (five hundred eighty-six million six hundred sixty-nine thousand four hundred and ten) without VAT.
“Bulgartransgaz” EAD will inform in a timely manner about the subsequent actions in connection with the launch and publication of the public procurement.
