The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States welcomes the Joint Statement of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia issued on December 7, 2023, regarding the agreement between the two countries on the political dialogue and confidence-building measures, the organization said in a statement, Trend reports.

There's no longer a need for any mediation between Azerbaijan and Armenia, former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza told Trend.

Talking about the agreement reached between the two countries on mutual release of detained military servicemen, he noted that this is a landmark agreement of historical importance.

NATO strongly supports normalization efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Javier Colomina, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy and Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, said, Trend reports.

Germany congratulates Armenia and Azerbaijan on taking courageous steps and building confidence, Steffen Hebestreit, German Government Spokesperson, said, Trend reports.

„We stand ready to support further normalization process based on mutual recognition of sovereignty, inviolability of borders, and territorial integrity“, he wrote on his page on X.

The European Union welcomes the actions taken by Armenia and Azerbaijan and facilitated by Georgia that led to the release by Azerbaijan of 15 Armenian detainees and the handing over by Armenia of maps of mined areas on Saturday, Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy said in a statement.
