Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin has met with Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for an Economy that Works for People, European Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, reports Kazinform.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia.
The Kyrgyz capital is preparing to host the first International Economic Forum “European Union - Central Asia” (EU-CA).

The Southern Gas Corridor, launched in late 2020 to supply Azerbaijani gas to Europe, will be discussed at the 5th Meeting of TEN-E (Trans-European Networks for Energy) cross-regional groups, Trend reports with reference to the European Commission.

The discussions are scheduled for June 22.

The European Commission recognises the importance of the Ionian-Adriatic Pipeline (IAP) for the regional gas market, in particular Croatia, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a source in the European Commission told Trend.

Indeed, a lot of progress has been achieved in the negotiations on the new partnership agreement between the European Union (EU) and Azerbaijan in 2019, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan - Kestutis Jankauskas told “Trend.az”.

He pointed out that large parts of the agreement are provisionally agreed.
