Azerbijan to draft project to export electricity to Europe

The preparation of a feasibility study on the possibility of exporting electricity from Central Asian countries to Europe through the territory of Azerbaijan will begin this year, the Deputy Energy Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Soltanov told reporters, Trend reports.

He noted that the technical condition for attracting companies to carry out the work outlined within the project is already ready.

Bulgartransgaz's hydrogen transportation infrastructure project has been included in the EU's list of projects of common interest (PCI) and will become an important 'green' project for the country and the region, the head of „Bulgartransgaz“ Vladimir Malinov said, Trend reports.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has engaged international consulting firms to review its "green" strategy.

This was announced by the representative of SOCAR - Teymur Guliyev at a panel discussion during the seminar "Green hydrogen - a path to decarbonization".

He noted that the process will be completed within six months.
