Samir Nuriyev has been appointed head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan

Samir Nuriyev was born on March 09, 1975 in Baku. He graduated the Azerbaijan Technical University and got a master's degree from Duke University in the United States with a masters’ degree in International Development Policy.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order, appointing Samir Rafik oglu Nuriyev as head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan. This was announced by the press service of the Head of State.

Until his appointment, Nuriev held the post of chairman of the State Committee on Architecture and Urban Planning. As a newly appointed head of the Presidential Administration, Samir Nuriyev replaces Ramiz Mehtiev. Samir Nuriyev was born on March 09, 1975 in Baku. He graduated the Azerbaijan Technical University and got a master's degree from Duke University in the United States with a masters’ degree in International Development Policy.

In 2006, he was appointed Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan. In 2009, he was appointed Deputy Head of the “Ichiricheher” State Architectural and Historical Sanctuary, and in 2013 was appointed Head of the same Sanctuary.

Since April 2016 he has been the Director of the State Housing Agency under the President of Azerbaijan, and since February 2018 he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Housing Directorate.

On April 21, 2018, by decree of the President Ilham Aliyev, Samir Nuriyev was appointed Chairman of the State Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of Azerbaijan. Samir Nuriyev is a member of the ruling party "Eni Azerbaijan" ("New Azerbaijan").

He is married and has two children.
