Azerbaijan discusses possibility of Romania’s joining Southern Gas Corridor

Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received a delegation led by Romanian Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment Niculae Havrilet that is in Baku to attend the sixth meeting of the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor, “Trend.az” reports referring to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy.

The representatives of TRANSGAZ S.A. and ROMGAZ S.A. companies attended the meeting.

The capabilities of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) transport corridor should be expanded even more, Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy said.

Krykliy made the remark at the event in Baku dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the signing the Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for Development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia Corridor and the 14th meeting of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission (IGC), Trend.az reports on December 6-th, 2019.

A ship carrying 14,600 sheep turned over in the Black Sea

On November 25, 2019, in the Black Sea, off the Romanian coast, the “Queen Hind” ship with 14,600 sheep on board rolled over. Only 33 animals have been saved. This is reported by the television channel “Digi24”.

When the ship left the port of Midia, it overturned. All members of the crew were rescued. One of them was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for hypothermia.

Ioannis was re-elected President of Romania

Romania's current head of state - Klaus Iohannis, won the second round of the presidential election, which was held on November 24, 2019. This is evidenced by the preliminary results from the counting of the votes in 99.3% of the polling stations, reports “Mediafax”.

According to the latest data, 63.12% of the citizens voted for Iohannis, while for his rival, Viorica Dӑncilӑ, a former prime minister of the country, voted 36.89%.
