Uzbekistan, Turkey sign 24 documents for US $ 679 million

Uzbekistan and Turkey signed 24 documents totaling US$679 million following the results of the Uzbek-Turkish business forum in Tashkent.

In particular, the parties signed 10 investment projects with a total value of US$514.7 million. Also, 15 trade contracts were signed for US$165.2 million.

The Uzbek-Turkish Business Forum was held on 28 June 2021 in Tashkent as part of the visit of the Turkish government delegation to Uzbekistan.

Iran can provide transit route for Uzbekistan to world market

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Islamic Republic of Iran can ease transit route for Uzbekistan to the global markets, reports Mehr.

Speaking to reporters after his meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov on Monday, Zarif pointed to the common history between Islamic Republic of Iran and Uzbekistan and stated that historical commonalities between Iran and Uzbekistan will expand and enhance preliminaries of friendship between the two countries to a great extent.

USAID sends large shipments of food to Uzbekistan

The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), delivered 131,320 kg of food assistance worth almost $400,000 to Uzbekistan. This food assistance will reach more than 35,000 of the most vulnerable Uzbekistani citizens and be distributed through more than 144 health and social protection facilities. This includes facilities that are providing COVID-19 related quarantine services, long-term care to patients with multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (TB), to orphanages and mental health facilities.

“Huawei” launches “smart” education system in Uzbekistan

Huawei presented to Uzbekistan’s President - Shavkat Mirziyoyev a system of “smart” education based on an innovative study room, opened with the assistance of Uzbektelecom, “Trend.az” reports with reference to the Uzbek media.

The room was presented during an opening of a new building of a specialized school for in-depth study of ICT named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.
