Today marks 60 years since the first woman launched into space. On June 16, 1963, the 26-year-old Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova set off on the Soviet Union's Vostok 6 expedition. Some 20 years later, the U.S. followed suit with Sally Ride launching off on June 18.

In Iran, women without hijab will be monitored by “smart cameras”

The Ministry of the Interior of Iran has announced that "smart video cameras" will be installed in public places and on the streets in the country to detect women who walk without a hijab or wear it carelessly - this is reported by the “Tasnim” agency, which refers to a statement from the ministry itself.

The measure is designed to prevent “tensions and conflicts between citizens” and “opposition to the hijab law”.

USAID ready to continue investing in agriculture development in Azerbaijan

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is ready to continue investing in the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan, the director of the USAID mission to Azerbaijan, Jaidev Singh, said at a conference entitled “The Role of Women in Azerbaijan's Agriculture”, Trend reports.

According to Singh, the participation of women in agriculture is an indicator of equality in Azerbaijan, and also opens up new opportunities for the development of this industry.
