The administration of the President of the USA - Joe Biden in the coming weeks will give a name to the mission in support of Ukraine. This was announced on August 24, 2022 by the authoritative American newspaper "The Wall Street Journal". By naming the operation, the US is formally recognizing its actions and efforts in Ukraine, as it did in Iraq and Afghanistan with Operations “Iraqi Freedom”, “Enduring Freedom”, and “Freedom's Guardian”.

According to the publication, this step will have a large bureaucratic significance, which, as a rule, entails long-term targeted funding.

This will mean a US transition from one-time actions to train the Ukrainian military and aid Ukraine to multi-year actions and efforts.

In addition, the Ukrainian mission will be headed by an American general. It is expected that he will be a two- or three-star.

On August 24, 2022, the Independence Day of Ukraine, Joe Biden announced the new, twentieth package of military aid to Ukraine, the amount of which amounts to 2.98 billion US dollars. It includes six NASAMS systems and ammunition for them. As with the previous U.S. military aid package, it is about making contracts with manufacturers and helping in the "medium and long term."

We remind you that the Lend-Lease Law for Ukraine was also adopted in the USA. The Pentagon said the US plans to provide Ukraine with weapons for "months and years to come".

Since the Biden administration came to power, the US has given Ukraine about $10 billion in security aid.
