US State Department reacts to Pashinyan’s remarks on urgency of border demarcation with Azerbaijan

The US State Department reacted to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks regarding the urgency of border demarcation with Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department said during a briefing that the US continues to pay close attention to this issue.

During a meeting with members of the government, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stressed that international organizations are aware of the new realities in the region after the war with Armenia in 2020, which resulted in the liberation of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. 84th meeting of Kazakh-Uzbek Demarcation Commission took place in Almaty

The 84th meeting of the government delegations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s Demarcation Commission took place on June 7-11, 2021, in the city of Almaty, stated on the website of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Kazinform reports.

The sides continued the preparation of draft outcome documents on state border demarcation and discussed the draft agreement between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the demarcation of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border.

The next meeting is set to take place in Uzbekistan.

Demarcation of Azerbaijan-Russia border may be completed within 2-3 years

Baku expects to complete the demarcation process of Azerbaijan-Russia state border within the next 2-3 years, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov told reporters in Baku, “Trend.az” reports Dec. 9.

The minister noted that the issues of border demarcation continue successfully with the Russian side.
