The Big East, which includes the historically developed regions of Alsace, Lorraine, Champagne, Vosges, has a powerful economic potential. The automotive industry, high-tech mechanical engineering, metallurgy, productive agriculture and a developed “green economy” generate up to 150 billion euros of regional GDP annually and bring the Greater East to a leading position in France. With a population of 5.5 million people and an area comparable to Switzerland, the region confidently maintains a competitive edge in the global market.
General Consul of Kazakhstan Anuarbek Akhmetov informed the representative of the leadership of this region in detail about the situation in Kazakhstan, the political course pursued by the Head of State, as well as the economic potential of the country.
The parties discussed plans for joint work, identified the most promising areas of cooperation, among which transport engineering, renewable energy, agriculture and food processing, “green” economy and digitalization.
