Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili hopes that oil transportation through the Baku-Supsa pipeline will resume in 2024 after regular pumping was suspended in spring 2022, Trend reports referring to Georgian media.
The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan stated that Astana and Baku are considering the possibility of launching oil transportation through the „Baku-Supsa“ pipeline. They noted that the parties are currently discussing this issue.
Kazakh Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliev said that Kadakhstan and Azerbaijan are planning to launch oil transportation via the „Baku-Supsa“ pipeline. The route to the Georgian port of Supsa has a capacity of 5 million tons per year.
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are reviewing possibilities for launching oil transportation via the Baku-Supsa route, Almassadam Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, told journalists on the sidelines of the government meeting, Trend reports.
By the end of the year, 1.125 million tons of oil from Kazakhstan will be transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, Parviz Shahbazov, said during a meeting with Serik Zhuminagarin, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum (AIF 2023), Trend reports from the scene.
bp has resumed oil transportation through the Baku-Supsa pipeline, said Gary Jones, bp Regional President to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye during a briefing dedicated to bp's plans for the future, Trend reports.
According to him, two tankers with oil have already been delivered to the Georgian Supsa port.
"Depending on weather conditions, oil via Baku-Supsa will be transported to world markets," he added.
Baku - Supsa oil pipeline can resume transportation at any time.

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are negotiating on the possibilities of transporting oil from Kazakhstan through the territory of Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas JSC Dauren Karabayev said during a briefing on August 25, Trend reports via Kazakh media.
He noted that discussions with Azerbaijan are being held at various levels, including state level and national companies level.
