Turkmenistan to join Turkic Council as observer

The 8th summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Turkic Council) will take place on November 12, 2021 in Istanbul. During the meeting, Turkmenistan will join the Turkic Council as an observer, the Interfax-Azerbaijan news agency reported on Monday, citing a statement by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

As the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, I welcome the signing of the Shusha Declaration on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey on 15 June 2021 in Shusha city, one of the ancient cradles of the Turkic culture.

Ensuring the flow of goods between members of Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Turkic Council) will be a priority in the future, Head of Analysis at PRISM Political Risk Management Ltd Benjamin Godwin stated.

On Apr. 10, 2020, an extraordinary Summit of the Turkic Council was held through videoconferencing. The Summit focused on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
