Turkmenistan to join Turkic Council as observer

The 8th summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Turkic Council) will take place on November 12, 2021 in Istanbul. During the meeting, Turkmenistan will join the Turkic Council as an observer, the Interfax-Azerbaijan news agency reported on Monday, citing a statement by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Uzbekistan, Turkey sign 24 documents for US $ 679 million

Uzbekistan and Turkey signed 24 documents totaling US$679 million following the results of the Uzbek-Turkish business forum in Tashkent.

In particular, the parties signed 10 investment projects with a total value of US$514.7 million. Also, 15 trade contracts were signed for US$165.2 million.

The Uzbek-Turkish Business Forum was held on 28 June 2021 in Tashkent as part of the visit of the Turkish government delegation to Uzbekistan.

“Casale” to provide design for ammonia plant in Uzbekistan

Casale has been selected by Enter Engineering Pte. to provide the technology and design of a new 495 000 tpy ammonia plant to be constructed in Yangiyer, near Samarkand, in the Sirdarya region of Uzbekistan.

Casale will also have the opportunity to participate in the future development of the project.

The ammonia plant will be part of a large fertilizer complex that will produce 900 000 tpy of mineral fertilizer and is expected to become fully operational in 2023.

84th meeting of Kazakh-Uzbek Demarcation Commission took place in Almaty

The 84th meeting of the government delegations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s Demarcation Commission took place on June 7-11, 2021, in the city of Almaty, stated on the website of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Kazinform reports.

The sides continued the preparation of draft outcome documents on state border demarcation and discussed the draft agreement between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the demarcation of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border.

The next meeting is set to take place in Uzbekistan.

Iran can provide transit route for Uzbekistan to world market

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Islamic Republic of Iran can ease transit route for Uzbekistan to the global markets, reports Mehr.

Speaking to reporters after his meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov on Monday, Zarif pointed to the common history between Islamic Republic of Iran and Uzbekistan and stated that historical commonalities between Iran and Uzbekistan will expand and enhance preliminaries of friendship between the two countries to a great extent.
