Azerbaijan reveals county’s gas production volume

In January 2024, Azerbaijan increased gas production by 30 million cubic meters, said Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov on X, Trend reports.

"During this period, 2.3 billion cubic meters of gas were exported out of a total of 4.3 billion," he wrote.

In addition, the minister stressed that oil production for January amounted to 2.5 million tons, of which 2.1 million tons were sent for export.

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved a lower gas price for November

A new reduction in the price of natural gas. The Energy and Water Regulation Commission (EWRC) approved a price of BGN 123.01 per megawatt hour for November. Thus, the reduction compared to October is slightly over 47%. “Bulgargaz” proposed the price to be 123.46, but after calculation, KEVR made the correction.

The initial statement of “Bulgargaz” from the end of October was that we would pay about BGN 130. Due to the continuing tendency for gas to become cheaper on the exchanges, the approved price is lower.

The project company ICGB received the final joint certification decision as an independent transmission operator. It was handed to the two executive directors Teodora Georgieva and Konstantinos Karayanakos by the chairmen of the national energy regulators of Bulgaria and Greece KEVR and RAE - Stanislav Todorov and Athanasios Dagoumas.

After a sharp rise in fuel prices worldwide, new potential buyers of natural gas from Europe turned to Azerbaijan, Energy Minister of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov told Bloomberg.

According to Shahbazov, governments and companies in the east and south of Europe have expressed interest in buying gas from Azerbaijan.
