The village of Chepintsy is a new address for amateur handicraft art

Creativity, inspiration and new acquaintances fill the studio even in November, despite the autumn cold. The children are diligently preparing for an impromptu “apprentice exam” at the end of the month – a public “sedyanka”, where they will have to demonstrate their craftsman skills to their parents and guests. The workshops with master classes are organized within the framework of the project “Traditions meet the future. Amateur art keeps artistic crafts alive” and are supported by the National Cultural Fund.

14 kilometers from the Lion Bridge, in the picturesque village of Chepintsy, creative craft workshops have been held on Saturdays and Sundays since the beginning of summer, positioning the village as a place where amateurs can engage in artistic crafts.

Creative master classes in ceramics, knitting, design and decoration are held in a specially equipped studio “Seasons” of the association “Debut Support”, located in the cooperative building in the center of the village.

By igniting the spark of creativity in talented children from Chepintsy, Negovan, Svetovrachenе, periodically receiving guests from Sofia, Elin Pelin and even visiting relatives Bulgarian children from London, the masters also involved most of the parents in the matter of acquaintance, study, mastering and preserving artistic crafts - pearls in the centuries-old treasury of Bulgarian intangible cultural heritage. Master classes not only introduce children to ancient crafts, but also develop their talents.
