Kazakhstan President Tokaev: We do not call what happened in Crimea “annexation”

In the words of Kassym-Jomart Kemelyevich Tokayev, Kazakhstan is not scared by the events in the Ukraine, insofar as “we have relations of absolute trust, relations of good neighbours with the Russian Federation”.

The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelyevich Tokayev, said that his country did not call the situation in Crimea annexation by Russia.

In an interview with “Deutsche Welle”, he said that annexation was “a word too hard for the Crimea”.

“What has happened has happened”, Tokaev said.

In his words, Kazakhstan is not scared by the events in Ukraine, insofar as “we have relations of absolute trust, relations of good neighbours with the Russian Federation”.

“Initially, we believed in the wisdom, in the decency of the Russian leadership”, he added.
