Azerbaijan tripled the export of natural gas to Bulgaria in the first half of 2023


Bulgaria imported 445,187.87 thousand cubic meters of natural gas, against 179,203 in the first six months of 2022. We paid $179.2 million for it. It is interesting that only Bulgaria is increasing its imports of Azeri gas, while all other importing countries are reducing volumes compared to 2022. Greece imported 15.6% less, Italy -2.1%, Turkey -7.1%.

In January-June 2023, the export of customs-declared volumes of natural gas from Azerbaijan amounted to 10,956,188.04 thousand cubic meters, which is 3.6% less than a year earlier, despite a tripling of the supply volume for Bulgaria, announced the State Customs Committee of the country (SCC).

Revenues from the export of declared gas from Azerbaijan amounted to 8,029,188.03 thousand US dollars (7.9% growth).

Natural gas supplies during the reported period accounted for 44.69% of Azerbaijan's total exports (40.26% in January-June 2022).

According to the data of the State Customs Committee, in the first half of 2023, the largest volume of declared gas exports was to Italy (40.5%) and to Turkey (36.3%).
