By the end of the year, 1.125 million tons of oil from Kazakhstan will be transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, Parviz Shahbazov, said during a meeting with Serik Zhuminagarin, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum (AIF 2023), Trend reports from the scene.

The new comprehensive agreement between the European Union and Azerbaijan will lay the ground for reinforced energy cooperation, notably on renewable energy, Miriam Garcia, European Commission spokesperson, told Trend.

"This agreement will play a key role in supporting the efforts of the Azerbaijani Government to diversify the economy," she said.

KazTransOil, the national oil transporter of Kazakhstan, shipped 9,959 tons of oil from the Tengiz oil field to Azerbaijan, Trend reports, citing KazTransOil.

Oil was sent to Baku by the “President Heydar Aliyev” oil tanker from Kazakhstan's port of Aktau. Upon reaching Azerbaijan, the natural resource export will continue via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has announced the start of the transit of Kazakh oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. The first shipment of Kazakh oil from the Tengiz field arrived at the Sangachal Terminal in Azerbaijan from the port of Aktau via the “President Heydar Aliyev” tanker on March 23, Trend reports citing company.

In general, according to the contract, Kazakhstan should deliver 300 thousand tons of oil.

bp has resumed oil transportation through the Baku-Supsa pipeline, said Gary Jones, bp Regional President to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye during a briefing dedicated to bp's plans for the future, Trend reports.

According to him, two tankers with oil have already been delivered to the Georgian Supsa port.

"Depending on weather conditions, oil via Baku-Supsa will be transported to world markets," he added.

Baku - Supsa oil pipeline can resume transportation at any time.

A regular meeting of the Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Working Group on the division of the Caspian seabed took place in Turkmenistan's Ashgabat on January 24-25, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend.
