Discussions underway to possibly transport Kazakh oil through Azerbaijan

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are negotiating on the possibilities of transporting oil from Kazakhstan through the territory of Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas JSC Dauren Karabayev said during a briefing on August 25, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

He noted that discussions with Azerbaijan are being held at various levels, including state level and national companies level.

EU to provide new 500 million euro military aid to Ukraine - Borrell

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Friday the bloc would provide a further 500 millions euros worth of military support to Ukraine and that he was confident a deal could be reached in the coming days to agree an embargo on Russian oil.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers meeting in northern Germany, Borrell said the military support would be for heavy weapons such as tanks and artillery and take the bloc's aid to about 2 billion euros.

Germany: Government no Longer Opposes Russian Oil Embargo

What Happened: Germany has dropped its opposition to a Russian oil embargo as long as it has enough time to wind down imports and find alternatives, The Wall Street Journal reported April 28. On April 27, Germany's economic minister announced that the country had struck a deal with Poland to increase oil imports through the Polish port of Gdansk, which is equipped to handle supertankers and has a pipeline that can send crude oil to a German refinery in Schwedt on the German-Polish border.

Iran Ready to Ramp up Output ASAP

BTC celebrates 500 million tonnes of oil export

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline, operated by bp, has achieved a significant milestone by carrying 500 million tonnes of oil in total from the Sangachal terminal near Baku across Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to Ceyhan, reports “bp”.

The milestone was achieved on 12 December when the 500 millionth tonne of Caspian crude flowed through the pipeline, was loaded on the 4922nd tanker named Nordorse, which was a joint SOCAR lifting, and departed for Trieste (Italy).

SOCAR’s STAR refinery tests numerous types of crude oil

The STAR refinery of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan has tested 28 different types of crude oil, head of the SOCAR Turkey Refinery and Petrochemicals Business Unit, director general of Petkim petrochemical complex Anar Mammadov said at a press conference for the Azerbaijani reporters.

Mammadov said that today the refinery buys oil mainly from Kazakhstan, Russia, Norway, as well as from Tunisia, Morocco, and the Mediterranean countries.

Petkim’s revenues reached record high level this year – SOCAR Turkey CEO

Revenues of Petkim, a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey, have reached record high level since early 2021, Director General of SOCAR Turkey Zaur Gahramanov said at a press conference for representatives of the Azerbaijani media on Nov. 30.

According to Gahramanov, Petkim meets 17 percent of Turkey's petrochemical needs.
