Georgia will take part in NATO naval exercises

Georgia, together with 12 NATO member countries and partners, will take part in the international naval exercise “Sea Shield 24”, which will be held in Romania from April 8 to 21, the press service of the Romanian Ministry of Defense reported.

According to the information, in addition to Georgia and Romania, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the USA, Turkey and France will take part in the exercises.

Meeting in “3+3” format could take place this year – Iranian official

A new meeting of the “3+3” consultative platform is expected to be held this year, said Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, Trend reports.

He expressed hope for Georgia's presence at this meeting.

The ambassador noted that this format is the most effective for solving problems in the South Caucasus.

Azerbaijan reveals gas export figures to Europe

Azerbaijan has exported 2.1 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe during the first two months of 2024, the country’s energy minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on X, Trend reports.

„From January to February of this year, Azerbaijan exported 2.1 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe, 1.4 billion cubic meters to Türkiye, and 0.6 billion cubic meters to Georgia“, Shahbazov stated.

Fresh look at Kazakhstan’s pushes to develop Middle Corridor in 2023

Kazakhstan is working to develop its section of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor), Trend reports.

According to official figures, 2.5 million tons of goods were transshipped through the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk along the TITR route in 11 months of 2023, a 107 percent increase over the previous year.

In 2023, Kazakh oil was carried along the Middle Corridor for the first time.
