In 2024, Georgian authorities plan to hold „Trojan Footprint“ special forces exercises and „Noble Partner“ multinational maneuvers on their territory together with the United States. This is stated in the government program of the candidate for prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze, sent to parliament.

“In 2024, Georgia will host the Trojan Footprint special operations forces exercise of the US European Command, as well as the Georgian-American multinational exercise Noble Partner. At the same time, the Georgian military will take part in exercises planned by the United States abroad,” the document says.

In addition, Georgia will continue to form a cyber command in the defense forces, and also, within the framework of cooperation with NATO, will begin implementing a project to create a cyber laboratory, the program says.

At an extraordinary congress of the ruling “Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia” party on Thursday, Kobakhidze was nominated as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Georgia, after which he sent to parliament the composition of the future cabinet of ministers and its program. To approve the candidacy, the politician will have to secure the support of at least 76 out of 150 deputies.

The post of Prime Minister of Georgia became vacant after Irakli Garibashvili announced his resignation on January 29. He became chairman of the ruling party.
