Six political parties admitted to Majilis in Kazakhstan

The Central Election Commission has announced the results of the early parliamentary election held on March 19, Kazinform correspondent reports.

According to CEC Chairman Nurlan Abdirov, 6,366,441 people cast their votes during the election.

The votes were distributed as following:

AMANAT – 53.90% or 3,341,510 votes;

Auyl People’s Democratic Party – 10.90% or 693,938 votes;

Kazakhstan to increase volume of oil transit via Azerbaijan

KazTransOil, the national oil transporter of Kazakhstan, shipped 9,959 tons of oil from the Tengiz oil field to Azerbaijan, Trend reports, citing KazTransOil.

Oil was sent to Baku by the “President Heydar Aliyev” oil tanker from Kazakhstan's port of Aktau. Upon reaching Azerbaijan, the natural resource export will continue via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

SOCAR starts transit of Kazakh oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline

State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has announced the start of the transit of Kazakh oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. The first shipment of Kazakh oil from the Tengiz field arrived at the Sangachal Terminal in Azerbaijan from the port of Aktau via the “President Heydar Aliyev” tanker on March 23, Trend reports citing company.

Kazakhstan plans to send another 20,000 tons of oil to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline in April, Kazinform news agency reports.

As Minister of Energy Bolat Akchulakov announced on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers during a government meeting, the first batch of 20 thousand tons has already been shipped, the second batch - in the same volume was sent in March. In general, according to the contract, Kazakhstan should deliver 300 thousand tons of oil.

Kazakhstan, UK seek to boost bilateral trade

UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Kazakhstan, Baroness Nicholson, arrived in Kazakhstan with a four-day visit to boost bilateral trade and economic ties between the UK and Kazakhstan, Trend reports, citing the British Embassy in Kazakhstan.

Baroness Nicholson will focus on two major areas - education, and agriculture, during her visit.

Kazakhstan continues work on fiber-optic co-op with Azerbaijan

Kazakhstan continues the work on laying a fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) along the bottom of the Caspian Sea, which will link Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhtelecom, said, Trend reports, citing the press service of the President.

The statement was made during the meeting between Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan.

Discussions underway to possibly transport Kazakh oil through Azerbaijan

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are negotiating on the possibilities of transporting oil from Kazakhstan through the territory of Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas JSC Dauren Karabayev said during a briefing on August 25, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

He noted that discussions with Azerbaijan are being held at various levels, including state level and national companies level.
