"With my colleague, the Minister of Energy of Romania - Virgil Popescu, we discussed the priorities of cooperation in the field of energy, such as the supply of gas from Azerbaijan and the transportation of "green" energy along the Black Sea Undersea Power Transmission Line", the publication says.

Within the groundbreaking ceremony of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant with a capacity of 240 MW, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of offshore wind energy was signed between the Ministry of Energy and ACWA Power of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Energy Ministry reports.

Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov and the Chief Investment Officer of ACWA Power Clive Turton signed the document.

“Khizi-Absheron” wind farm with an installed capacity of 240 megawatts will become the largest wind power plant in Azerbaijan, energy expert Ilham Shaban stated.

According to Shaban, to date, a hybrid power plant at the Gobustan alternative energy experimental polygon has been the largest wind power plant in the country.

The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan has presented a concept for the development of “green energy” to the government, the ministry’s Deputy Head Elnur Soltanov said at the Rebuild Karabakh and BakuBuild exhibitions that opened on Oct.20 at the Baku Expo Center.
