Pashinyan states his intention to sign peace treaty with Azerbaijan

The principles of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan have been agreed upon, Yerevan has the political will to sign this document, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said, Trend reports.

“Essentially, the principles of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan have been agreed upon, and at the end of last year it seemed to us that we were very close to final agreement,” Pashinyan said in an interview with The Telegraph.

An online conference of the heads of the member-states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has been tentatively scheduled for January 10 to discuss the situation in Kazakhstan, the press service of the Armenian Prime Minister, CSTO acting chairman Nikol Pashinyan said, reports TASS.

On 12 July the armed forces of Armenia, using artillery, attempted to attack and seize positions of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, in the direction of the district of Tovuz along the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The armed forces of Azerbaijan were forced to retaliate by launching counter-offensive measures, preventing the advancement of the Armenian armed forces. As a result of the combat, four servicemen of the Azerbaijani army were killed and four were injured.
