The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) will be able to bring more than 9.5 billion cubic meters of gas to Italy this year, which is 2.5 times more than in 2021, said
Luca Schieppati, TAP's Managing Director, Trend reports.
“We are talking about over 13 percent of the national gas demand,” he said addressing the Young Hope event in Italy.
Procedures for commissioning the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector on October 1 are progressing according to schedule. The project company ICGB received the final joint certification decision as an independent transmission operator. It was handed to the two executive directors Teodora Georgieva and Konstantinos Karayanakos by the chairmen of the national energy regulators of Bulgaria and Greece KEVR and RAE - Stanislav Todorov and Athanasios Dagoumas.
The IGB project connects Bulgaria with the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline, allowing gas to be transported from Azerbaijan through Greece to Italy and the region of Southeast Europe.

Currently, the construction activities for the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) continues, with trenching and lowering of the welded pipeline being reported by the contractor as completed, the ICGB AD, the project company stated.
Interconnection with the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) will turn Alexandroupolis into a new energy hub, Trend quoted Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias as saying following his visit to the Port of Alexandroupolis.
