
According to the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas (KMG) Kurmangazy Iskaziyev, the volume of transit of Kazakh oil in the direction of Aktau-Baku-Ceyhan under the agreement with SOCAR has been increased to 1.4 million tons or by 27%, and this year this figure is planned to be increased to 1.7 million tons.
Kazakhstan plans to increase the volume of oil transit via the Aktau-Baku-Ceyhan route to 1.7 million tons in 2025.
As Trend reports, this was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas (KMG) Kurmangazy Iskaziyev speaking at an expanded meeting of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
According to him, the volume of transit of Kazakh oil in the direction of Aktau-Baku-Ceyhan under the agreement with SOCAR has been increased to 1.4 million tons or by 27%, and this year this figure is planned to be increased to 1.7 million tons.
Let us recall that in 2022, KMG and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) signed a general agreement on the transit of Kazakh oil. In March 2023, a test shipment of 7 thousand tons of oil from the Kashagan field via Azerbaijan was carried out. The shipper was Inpex North Caspian Sea Ltd.
Overall, in 2024, the volume of oil transportation from Kazakhstan amounted to 83.5 million tons, which is 4% higher than the previous year.
