The National Bank of Ukraine expects that by the end of 2019, labor migrants will transfer $ 11.5 billion to the country, said the deputy governor of the National Bank - Dmitry Sologub.
For the last ten months of 2019, the total amount of the money transfers from the migrant workers abroad to the Ukraine, reached $ 9.7 billion. This was stated on December 12, 2019, by the Deputy Governor of NBU - Dmitry Sologub during the presentation of the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine on the discount rate, reports "Gromadske".
“About private transfers from abroad: the current amount for the 10 months of 2019 is $ 9.7 billion. This is almost as it was last year - it was 7 percent lower then. By the end of the year, we expect $ 11.5 billion”, Sologub said.
According to him, this trend indicates a slowdown in migration from Ukraine to other countries. (According to the editorial board of blacksea-caspia.eu, such a statement is not based on any rational considerations).
“Since the beginning of the year, foreign companies operating in Ukraine, have paid their owners about $ 3 billion, which gives no reason to talk about capital outflow, as this amount corresponds to the parameters of last year”, Sologub added.
On August 1, 2019, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine stated that more than 3.2 million Ukrainians work abroad permanently.
