“The main challenge facing the rocket and space industry is that the demand for an effective space policy by society and the self-perception of the country as a great space state are many times greater than these opportunities, including the financial resources, which are at the disposal of the space industry”, the CEO of “Roscosmos” Dmitry Rogozin said.

The opinion of the Russian people about the potential of the country in space, goes beyond the capabilities of the state corporation “Roscosmos”, said the head of “Roscosmos”, Dmitry Rogozin at a meeting of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics “Tsiolokovsky”.

“The main challenge facing the rocket and space industry is that the demand for an effective space policy by society and the self-perception of the country as a great space state are many times greater than these opportunities, including the financial resources, which are at the disposal of the space industry”, he said.

“The gap between the demands of society and the expectations that exist among the people and the state of the art [of the space industry – ed.], this gap is the main challenge that we face”, Rogozin added.

The CEO of “Roscosmos” also noted, that “the only one who can be without specialized education in the space rocket industry is the CEO”. In Rogozin's view, this post is political, not technical.
