Energy cooperation with Azerbaijan is important for Bulgaria, and if Sofia manages to buy Azerbaijani gas, it will be a great achievement for the country. This was stated by Mrs. Ekaterina Zaharieva, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, during a joint briefing in Yerevan, with her Armenian counterpart, Sputnik - Armenia reported.

According to Mrs. Zaharievas statement, at the same time Bulgaria is developing good relations with Armenia.

She believes that the stability in the region of Transcaucasia, the well-being of citizens and the settlement of frozen conflicts are priorities for the European Union.

She added that the European Union has a special approach to the South Caucasus.

Ekaterina Zaharieva also presented a wide range of issues that were discussed during the meeting with Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Armenian Foreign Minister. According to her statement, the two sides discussed possibilities for the developing of trade relations. For the first half of 2019, the trade turnover between Bulgaria and Armenia was about $ 20 million dollars.
