By naming the operation, the US is formally recognizing its actions and efforts in Ukraine, as it did in Iraq and Afghanistan with Operations “Iraqi Freedom”, “Enduring Freedom”, and “Freedom's Guardian”.
According to the publication, this step will have a large bureaucratic significance, which, as a rule, entails long-term targeted funding.
This will mean a US transition from one-time actions to train the Ukrainian military and aid Ukraine to multi-year actions and efforts.
In addition, the Ukrainian mission will be headed by an American general. It is expected that he will be a two- or three-star.
On August 24, 2022, the Independence Day of Ukraine, Joe Biden announced the new, twentieth package of military aid to Ukraine, the amount of which amounts to 2.98 billion US dollars.
