Greece's volume of natural gas purchases from Azerbaijan announced

Supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Greece via the Southern Gas Corridor over its 3.5 years of operation accounted for 10 percent of the total volume of gas transported to Europe from Azerbaijan during this period.

This figure was announced at the fifth meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic, Industrial, and Technological Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Greece on June 13, 2024 in Baku.

In January-April of this year, Azerbaijan exported 286.6 million cubic meters of natural gas to Greece.

According to information received by Trend from the State Statistics Committee, the income from this volume of natural gas exports amounted to 163.4 million US dollars.

Compared to the same period last year, gas exports to Greece decreased by 28.6 million cubic meters, or 9.1% in kind, and increased by $30.7 million, or 23.1%, in value terms.

Thus, in January-April 2024, 315.2 million cubic meters of natural gas worth $132.7 million were exported from Azerbaijan to Greece.

In the first four months of 2025, the total volume of natural gas exports from Azerbaijan amounted to 8.2 billion cubic meters, and its value was 3.1 billion US dollars. Meanwhile, the volume of imported natural gas in January-April of this year amounted to 176.5 million cubic meters, and its value was 27.2 million US dollars.

It should be noted that during this period, natural gas from Azerbaijan was exported to Georgia, Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy and Greece, and imported from Russia and Turkmenistan.
