The ship was sailing under the flag of Palau (an island state in the Pacific) and had to transport the sheep to Libya.
Losses are estimated at 3 million lei ($ 691.9 thousand). The competent authorities have initiated an investigation on the causes of the accident. According to one version, the ship was overloaded.
