European Commission urges for accelerating IGB’s launch

The European Commission encourages all parties concerned to accelerate necessary steps to launch the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) as soon as possible, a European Commission spokesperson told Trend, as it received a letter from Romania’s former energy minister.

Romania’s former energy minister Razvan Nicolescu has sent a letter to the EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson, asking to take measures to speed up the launch of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria, which is aimed at transporting Azerbaijani gas.

EU to provide new 500 million euro military aid to Ukraine - Borrell

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Friday the bloc would provide a further 500 millions euros worth of military support to Ukraine and that he was confident a deal could be reached in the coming days to agree an embargo on Russian oil.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers meeting in northern Germany, Borrell said the military support would be for heavy weapons such as tanks and artillery and take the bloc's aid to about 2 billion euros.

Bloomberg: EU agrees to share classified information with Ukraine

The EU has approved an agreement with Ukraine that allows the exchange of classified information with Kyiv, including satellite images. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.

According to the agency's sources, the initial agreement will be for a period of one year, but it can be extended after that.

The ambassadors of the EU countries were informed about the agreement at their meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

Azerbaijan, EU reach preliminary agreement on sheep wool export – Food Safety Agency

A preliminary agreement has been reached on the export of sheep wool from Azerbaijan to Europe, the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated.
