Serbia expects to receive Azerbaijani gas in the near future

Boris Tadic: “I proposed to build the interconnector with Bulgaria even during my presidency, and I am glad that Serbia is finally getting closer to the implementation of this project. This is of interest to both European countries and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan will be able to supply its natural gas not only to Italy, but also to many other countries”.

Azerbaijan is becoming an increasingly important player in the European energy market.
This is what the former president of Serbia, Boris Tadic, said in an exclusive interview for Trend.az.

“Today, Azerbaijan is becoming a significantly more valuable energy partner. With the construction of TAP and TANAP, Azerbaijan will play a significantly more important role in the future”, Tadic said.

The former president expressed regret that Serbia has not yet concluded an agreement on gas issues with Azerbaijan.
At the same time, he expressed hope that Serbia will soon be able to receive Azerbaijani gas.

“I proposed to build the interconnector with Bulgaria even during my presidency, and I am glad that Serbia is finally getting closer to the implementation of this project. This is of interest to both European countries and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan will be able to supply its natural gas not only to Italy, but also to many other countries”, Tadic added.

“I don't think Southeast Europe will be very interested in importing liquefied natural gas (LPG) from, for example, Norway, because the delivery is too far and complicated. Therefore, Azerbaijan can become a significantly more important player on the European energy market”, concluded Tadic.
