MILITARY COOPERATION

The ambassador of the CAR in Moscow, Leon Dodonou-Pounagaza, said that the country is interested in deploying a Russian military base on its territory, where 5,000 to 10,000 soldiers will be stationed. Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Raimonds Bergmanis, a member of the Latvian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly on June 17, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

During the meeting, the minister of defense noted that the Azerbaijani-Latvian military cooperation has been successfully implementing both within NATO’s various programs and on a bilateral basis.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Bahodir Kurbanov. Minister Kurbanov is visiting Azerbaijan in connection with his participation in the next session of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS member countries.
