The US State Department reacted to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks regarding the urgency of border demarcation with Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department said during a briefing that the US continues to pay close attention to this issue.

Russia considers Yerevan’s rhetoric towards CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) ultimatum and offensive, the Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said during a briefing, Trend reports.

“We cannot help but be alarmed by the counterproductive and ultimatum, and sometimes offensive, rhetoric that prevails today in the statements of the Armenian leadership on the topic,” Zakharova noted.

The principles of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan have been agreed upon, Yerevan has the political will to sign this document, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said, Trend reports.

“Essentially, the principles of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan have been agreed upon, and at the end of last year it seemed to us that we were very close to final agreement,” Pashinyan said in an interview with The Telegraph.

An online conference of the heads of the member-states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has been tentatively scheduled for January 10 to discuss the situation in Kazakhstan, the press service of the Armenian Prime Minister, CSTO acting chairman Nikol Pashinyan said, reports TASS.
