According to the statement, the preservation and improvement of the environment are the most important priorities of the port.

Azerbaijan, Latvia look to expand co-op on postal and financial services

Azerbaijan and Latvia are interested in expanding cooperation on postal and financial services, reports the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and High Technologies.

This issue was discussed at a meeting between the Director-General of Azerpost LLC Afgan Jalilov and Head of the Latvian Post Markis Vilkans.

Uzbekistan, Turkey sign 24 documents for US $ 679 million

Uzbekistan and Turkey signed 24 documents totaling US$679 million following the results of the Uzbek-Turkish business forum in Tashkent.

In particular, the parties signed 10 investment projects with a total value of US$514.7 million. Also, 15 trade contracts were signed for US$165.2 million.

The Uzbek-Turkish Business Forum was held on 28 June 2021 in Tashkent as part of the visit of the Turkish government delegation to Uzbekistan.

Turkey’s communication satellite Türksat 5A comes into service

Turkey's fifth-generation communication satellite Turksat 5A entered into service on Monday with a commissioning ceremony in the capital Ankara.

Launched by US-based space technologies firm SpaceX this January, the satellite orbits along the 31st meridian east.
Attending the ceremony online, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the satellite was ready to serve after tests and preparation efforts.

Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies is ready to cooperate on the digitalization of the TRACECA corridor, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev said.

Nabiyev made the statement during the meeting with Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA Asset Asavbayev on June 21, 2021.

National Secretary of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission on Azerbaijan Rufat Bayramov also attended the meeting.

“Casale” to provide design for ammonia plant in Uzbekistan

Casale has been selected by Enter Engineering Pte. to provide the technology and design of a new 495 000 tpy ammonia plant to be constructed in Yangiyer, near Samarkand, in the Sirdarya region of Uzbekistan.

Casale will also have the opportunity to participate in the future development of the project.

The ammonia plant will be part of a large fertilizer complex that will produce 900 000 tpy of mineral fertilizer and is expected to become fully operational in 2023.
