The unblocking of transport routes in the South Caucasus creates tremendous opportunities for cooperation, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said, Trend reports.

The minister made the statement while speaking at the panel discussion entitled ‘South Caucasus: New Opportunities for Regional Peace and Cooperation’ within the framework of the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya (Turkey).

Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Raimonds Bergmanis, a member of the Latvian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly on June 17, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

During the meeting, the minister of defense noted that the Azerbaijani-Latvian military cooperation has been successfully implementing both within NATO’s various programs and on a bilateral basis.

The Port of Baku and Batumi Multimodal Terminal have signed an Agreement to facilitate fertilizer transit via the Middle Corridor, Trend reports referring to the port's message on Twitter.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between “Baku International Sea Trade Port” CJSC (aka Port of Baku) Trammo Inc., and “Wondernet Express Investment Group”, which owns and operates the Batumi Multimodal Fertilizer Terminal.

84th meeting of Kazakh-Uzbek Demarcation Commission took place in Almaty

The 84th meeting of the government delegations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s Demarcation Commission took place on June 7-11, 2021, in the city of Almaty, stated on the website of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Kazinform reports.

The sides continued the preparation of draft outcome documents on state border demarcation and discussed the draft agreement between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the demarcation of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border.

The next meeting is set to take place in Uzbekistan.

Southern Gas Corridor may help to resolve some regional and global energy issues, Trend quoted Kurt Donnelly, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Energy Resources, U.S. Department of State, as saying.

Addressing the 5th Annual Trans-Caspian Forum, Donnelly noted that for decades now there have been repeated efforts to find a way to include Turkmenistan gas into the Southern Gas Corridor or in other ways to be exported to markets in Europe.
