IGB’s Commercial Operation Date announced

Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB), which is expected to deliver 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria is set for the second quarter of 2021, executive director of ICGB project company Teodora Georgieva told Trend.az.

She noted that the interconnector’s construction was commenced on Oct.28, 2019 and the duration is 18 months.

Bulgaria approves draft labour migration agreement with Turkmenistan

The Bulgarian Council of Ministers has approved draft bilateral agreements on the regulation of labour migration between the government of Bulgaria and the governments of Albania and Turkmenistan, Trend.az reports.

Projects will become the basis for negotiations on issues related to the regulation of the citizens’ employment of these countries in Bulgaria, the report said with reference to the press service of the Government of Bulgaria.

Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received a delegation led by Romanian Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment Niculae Havrilet that is in Baku to attend the sixth meeting of the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor, “Trend.az” reports referring to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy.

"Saipem" soon to start laying pipes for TAP on Adriatic Sea bottom

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) will soon see the start of laying pipes on bottom of Adriatic Sea, "Trend.az" reports citing the TAP AG consortium.

Activities are in full swing on board the "Castoro Sei" pipe-laying barge of Italy’s "Saipem" company, which is the contractor of the project, said the consortium.

"This offshore "moving assembly line" with up to 340 people on board is welding pipes and will shortly start laying them on the bottom of the Adriatic Sea", reads a message.

Turkmenistan remains China's most important gas supplier

From December 2009 to December 2019, from Central Asia, mainly from Turkmenistan, to China were delivered 294.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas, “Trend.az” reports, citing an information of the “Xinhua” news agency from the 6-th of January, 2020.

The “Xinhua” news agency cites data from the “PetroChina West Pipeline Company”. Turkmen gas operations have benefited more than 500 million people in 27 provincial-level administrative units, as well as in the Special Administrative Region of Xianggang, the release said.

The European Union (EU) is ready to help Azerbaijan with latest technologies on renewables, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas told “Trend.az”.

“We are already working with Azerbaijan on its new long term Energy Strategy. We are ready to help with latest technologies on renewable energy sources. Azerbaijan has a lot of wind and sun. Harvesting it would make many utility bills smaller and our environment cleaner”, he said.
