The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan conducted more than 70 operational - tactical and command - staff exercises in 2019.

“Over the past year, the Armed Forces conducted several large-scale exercises, with more than 70 operational - tactical and command - staff exercises, being conducted with the involvement of various forces”, noted Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, in his salutation to the Armed Forces personnel for the Azerbaijani Solidarity Day and the New Year.

“Saryarka” main pipeline put into operation in Kazakhstan

Construction of Kazakhstan’s “Saryarka” main pipeline is completed and the pipeline was put into operation, “Trend.az” reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy.

According to the ministry, the pipeline was put into operation of Dec. 27, 2019.

The pipeline, which starts in country’s Kyzylorda region, will supply gas to country’s capital, as well as central and northern regions.

Turkey has increased exports of its defense industry products to Uzbekistan five times

According to the results of the ten month period (January - October) of 2019, the export of goods produced by the defense industry from Turkey to Uzbekistan, has increased five times, compared to the same period in 2018, reaching $ 8.261 million.

“Huawei” launches “smart” education system in Uzbekistan

Turkmenistan ranks among Uzbekistan's top ten foreign trade partners

In 2019, Turkmenistan has entered the list of Uzbekistan's top ten foreign trade partners, “Trend.az” reported, citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

From January to November 2019, total trade between the two neighboring countries reached US $ 457.8 million. For comparison, the previous year's turnover was $ 243.9 million.

Turkey’s Erdogan says to send troops to Libya

President Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that Turkey will send troops to Libya now that the north African country requested it, and he will present deployment legislation to the Turkish parliament in January.

Erdogan visited Tunisia on Wednesday to discuss cooperation for a possible ceasefire in neighbouring Libya. In a speech Thursday, he said Turkey and Tunisia agreed to support Libya’s internationally recognised government of Fayez al-Serraj.

According to him, the internationally recognized government of Libya has asked for military assistance from Ankara on “air, land and sea”.

Libyan Government of National Accord asks Turkey for air defense complexes

Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA), which resides in Tripoli, headed by Fayez Sarraj, has asked Turkey to provide it with air defense systems. The “Al Hadath” TV channel, announced this on December 26, 2019, citing its own sources.

Northern Macedonia to build another pipeline to transport Azerbaijani gas

Northern Macedonia intends to build a gas pipeline to connect with Bulgaria to gain access to Azerbaijani gas, Trend.az reports, citing the “Central European Financial Observer”.

According to the announcement, representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry of Northern Macedonia and Bulgaria, have come up with a common initiative to build a gas pipeline, that will connect the town of Strumica with the neighboring Bulgarian town of Petrich.
