There are mercenaries of Armenian origin from Syria and the Middle Eastern countries among the destroyed Armenian armed forces, Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Colonel Vagif Dargahli said.
 
“The intelligence shows that these mercenaries of Armenian origin, attracted from Syria and other countries of the Middle East, are not registered in Armenia. Therefore, these figures are hidden while providing information on the losses of the Armenian side,” the spokesman stressed.

On 12 July the armed forces of Armenia, using artillery, attempted to attack and seize positions of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, in the direction of the district of Tovuz along the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Tajik lawmakers have approved a bill banning the issuance of new identification documents and birth certificates for ethnic Tajiks containing Russified surnames, the latest attempt to revive traditional names.

Justice Minister Muzaffar Ashuryon said after the bill was approved by parliament's lower chamber, the Assembly of Representatives, on April 29 that the government had initiated the bill to comply with the state program on “returning national names”.
