Maxim Stanislavovich Oreshkin (born July 21, 1982 in Moscow) is a Russian economist and politician who has been serving as Minister of Economic Development since November 30, 2016. He graduated one of the Russia’s leading universities – the Higher School of Economics in 2004 and worked in several major banks, both Russian and foreign-owned.

The President of Azerbaijan - Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation, headed by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia and co-chair of the Russian-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission - Maxim Oreshkin.

In September 2013, Oreshkin joined the state administration as head of the Directorate for long-term strategic planning of the Finance Ministry. In March 2015 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance.
